- Read the relevant manuals or policies and procedures guide for your agency or field placement, focusing on safety procedures, practices, and policies.
- Respond to the following prompts:
- At what type of agency are you placed? How does this agency differ from ones that you have experienced in either your generalist year practicum OR other practicum experiences you have had?
- What are two new strategies that you plan to incorporate into your practice in this advanced practicum from your generalist year practicum or in a prior practicum? Why did you choose these strategies?
- What sort of new or different challenges do you anticipate encountering in this new environment [your practicum]? Describe at least one.
- How will you ensure that you receive sufficient orientation to your agency and to your roles and responsibilities as a student? Also, identify and discuss at least two things you will do to ensure success in your relationship with your supervisor or your practicum experience as a whole.
- Based on the information you have received so far, describe one agency policy or procedure that you think will be important for you to learn and follow as you complete your practicum. Explain the importance of the policy to your work or environment.
