Proverbs 12:1

As technology changes, so do business practices and processes. These changes cause the need for continuous training and retraining throughout organizations. Learning new things is part of all areas of life. Learning and growing should be never-ending as we walk with Christ, but according to todays devotional, learning and growing are not only about loving knowledge, but not hating reproof.

A colleague once came back looking a little bewildered after talking with his manager. After the colleague engaged in conversation with the manager, the colleague expressed amazement that he had just been strongly reproved, yet he came away quite appreciative. His exact words were, Hes the only boss Ive ever had that could cut my throat, yet I didnt even realize it until I saw the blood much later.

How do we, as managers, offer reproof to our employees without provoking resentment? How do the things we learn in our faith impact our professional goals and successes?
