The Han Dynasty was one of the most intellectual dynasties and was marked with many achievements and inventions which contributed to improving the everyday life. It existed for 206BC to 220AD. This dynasty succeeded the Qin dynasty and it was in China. It represented the classical age of China. The Chinese people still are sometimes called the Hans children. The military of this dynasty was an aggressive one and has massive strength. The military strategies were buried in tombs of the emperors. Northern Vietnam and Korea was conquered by Hans. The influence of the Hans dynasty can be still be seen in the neighbouring countries which had adopted the traditional writing methods and other strategies. The Hans dynasty is sometimes considered an important one because it was an era prosperity and peace and during this era China was able to expand to world power. It existed for about 400 years. Imperial dynasties in China comprised of Qin dynasty and Hans dynasty. Some of the major events that took p[lace during the same was Emperor Gaozu, Empress Lu Zhi, Silk road, art of the Hans dynasty, paper invention and many others. Trade of long distance was supported during the era of Hans’s dynasty through various interconnected routes of trade called the Silk Road. This trade route helped the dynasty in economic development. Merchants used these trade routes to trade goods on their camels. Silk, gems and much other material was exchanged in order to get western goods wool, glass and others. This route extended from the Asia Minor to the Pacific Ocean. Their culture was advance with the help of technological inventions. Hans’s dynasty inventions were more than that provided by Rome. Some of their major inventions included paper, horse collar, block printing and many others. Some of the major achievements of the Hans dynasty included the medicine, map making, mathematics and others and one of the most intellectual achievements was that of writing of the history. One of the greatest historians of the Hans dynasty was Sima Qian. Some of the roman historians were his rivals such as Livy and Thucydides. One of the greatest works of literature of the Hans dynasty was grand historian records. Sima Qian was made the palace attendant emperor Wudi and he was also made the library in charge. The Shi Ji is a narrative piece of literature and was written by Sima during 109 to 91BC. The book contains the biographies of important people, rulers, and kings and also includes economic essays and others. Wudi was known for expanding the empire and restoring Confucianism. The cultural and educational basis lies in Confucianism. The Hans Dynasty had a cosmological architecture with the foundation made of Kun meaning the earth; roofs were made in a round shape that symbolized heaven. The main form of entertainment for the Hans Dynasty is music. Therefore music was made a part of almost all of the ceremonies and events. Therefore it can be said that the Hans dynasty was unique in its own way and there exists some degree of similarity between the cultures of the Hans dynasty and those of ancient world.
