A summary of a research paper

Research Requirement: 

Write a summary of a research paper (or papers) based on recently published management research.

First you’ll need to find a paper: I suggest doing a search on the library website for “Journal of Applied Psychology” (note: make sure you don’t end up getting something like “Journal of Applied Sports Psychology” or some variant on that) or “Harvard Business Review” and look for research to summarize. “Journal of Applied Psychology” has the benefit of being *only* research reports (and hence easy to find one to summarize), but some may be intimidated by reading a research article; “Harvard Business Review” will have articles written for a general audience, but can be harder to find a research Michigan State UniversityPage 4 article to summarize (sometimes they publish case studies; sometimes they publish opinion pieces; sometimes short blog posts, etc. – so you will have to do a bit more digging). Once you find a suitable article, your writeup should be approximately a page (double-spaced, 1” margins, Times New Roman 12-pt font). Your summary could include what the problem is that they are looking at, how they studied the problem, what they found, why you think it is important, and whether you agree or disagree with the authors.
