SGMS is facing tremendous challenges and barriers as a new organization in the market. Some of these barriers must be overcome and controlled. Access to primary and secondary market interests must be achieved. Ethical issues must be handled with care to avoid conflicts of interest, inappropriate practices, and noncompliance with regulations.

You have many responsibilities as the new marketing officer for SGMS. You are required to do the following:

  • Assess barriers and challenges preventing access to the market
  • Consider marketing methods
  • Recommend channels for reaching primary and secondary market interests

You have been reading and have even interviewed other businesses in the area. Now, you want to inform the entire staff of SGMS about what you found out and how to address the issue.

For this assignment, respond to the following:

  • List 4 barriers affecting new businesses, such as SGMS, that seek to enter the service delivery market for the aging population.
  • What are some of the alleviation strategies that you would put in place to overcome these barriers and challenges?
  • What is segment profitability, and what role does cost play in a marketing business?
  • What ethical considerations would you put in place especially when marketing to older population?

Deliverable Requirements

Based on your findings from interviews, readings, and analysis, prepare a detailed memo of 5 pages with at least 5 references in APA format.

Submitting your assignment in APA format means, at a minimum, you will need the following:

  • Title page: Remember the running head. The title should be in all capitals.
  • Length: 5 pages minimum
  • Abstract: This is a summary of your paper, not an introduction. Begin writing in third person.
  • Body: This begins on the page following the title page and abstract page and must be double-spaced (be careful not to triple- or quadruple-space between paragraphs). The typeface should be 12-pt. Times Roman or 12-pt. Courier in regular black type. Do not use color, bold type, or italics, except as required for APA-level headings and references. The deliverable length of the body of your paper for this assignment is 5 pages. In-body academic citations to support your decisions and analysis are required. A variety of academic sources is encouraged.
  • Reference page: References that align with your in-body academic sources are listed on the final page of your paper. The references must be in APA format using appropriate spacing, hanging indent, italics, and uppercase and lowercase usage as appropriate for the type of resource used. Remember, the Reference page is not a bibliography but a further listing of the abbreviated in-body citations used in the paper. Every referenced item must have a corresponding in-body citation.
