Imagine that you are living in an apartment building that has 50 individual apartments with an average of 4 residents per apartment. Network connectivity is provided by the landlord for each apartment and the cost is included in the monthly rent. Because of a global pandemic, everyone living in the apartment building is now working from home or attending school online placing a large demand and strain on the buildings computer network. Your landlord has learned that you are a network engineer and has offered you free rent for a year if you help them improve network performance and reduce the number of complaints that come in on a daily basis.
Reflect on the lessons provided in the learning materials and compare and contrast various network-troubleshooting methodologies and their effectiveness. Discuss which troubleshooting steps you would take to isolate the problems on the network and provide your opinion on what network design issues are likely going to be changed to improve the quality of service.
