Task:
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this assessment, the student will be able to:
Learning Outcome One: Analyse phases of supply chain and logistics management from internal and external perspectives.
Learning Outcome Two: Critically evaluate logistics and supply chain operations.
Required Tasks
In this case study for assessment two students are required to work on a real world supply chain and logistics related problem. Based on the selected problem instance, you are to accomplish the following tasks in the order given below.
The report must be according to the prescribed template available on the course Moodle site, and should contain the following elements in order:
1 Research question
Identify and frame a research question based on the supply chain (SC) and logistics (LG) problem you have considered in the organisation of your choice.
2 Executive summary
State a summary of the report. It should include: purpose, background, main findings, conclusions and recommendations.
3 Introduction
Introduce the problem and elaborate its scope clearly in the industrial and organisational context.
4 Operations and Performance
Within the scope of the study, define and illustrate three (3) significant phases involved in the supply chain. Identify and analyse appropriate performance measure driver for each supply chain phase.
5 Integration Considerations
Within the scope of the study, present appropriate instances of internal and external integration. Also, evaluate these integration aspects thoroughly. The content should be succinct and well articulated.
6Value Generation
Create a Value Stream Map (VSM) capturing three (3) significant supply chain stages and analyse value creation aspects across different VSM components.
7 Conclusion
The conclusion should integrate the study objective with the report findings and provide recommendations appropriately.
8 Evidence of wide reading of the topic
Reference the literature from credible sources. Provide in-text citations and reference list using APA 6th edition referencing style.
