The challenge for you is to create a conversation between the texts. From this conversation, 
you will generate a series of ideas, which will be the basis for the essay

use the conversation you create as a lens through which to examine a particular that is, a unique way of representing New York City. 

Analysis should demonstrate a familiarity with, and an understanding of, 

Creative Nonfiction: its conventions, as well as the assumptions and expectations it challenges

The essay itself must include the following elements:

• a 75-word encapsulation of each text, in your own words;
• textual analysis that addresses the formal elements at work;
• proper citation of material from the texts, both in the essay and 
  in a Works Cited section, following MLA style

work must exhibit the thinking and writing skills appropriate to an essay, 

not a thesis. You will need to MAKE A CLAIM , one that is articulated, explored, and  developed through the essays beginning, middle, and end.

Finally, the essay will be assessed in terms of the logic of your thinking and the clarity  of prose*
