• Write a 1 page article summary over the research article that I have screenshot and uploaded to files. Requirements include: 12-point font Times New Roman, double space (APA format)
In each section of a scholarly, research article, there are specific items of importance. Those items should be the information that makes its way into an article summary. I have tried to outline questions you should be able to answer with the content included in your summary for each section.
Introduction: Why are the researchers doing this study?
• Why is the research being done important?
• What is already known?
• What is the purpose of this study?
Methods: What did the researchers do to test their research question?
• How many participants were included and who were they? Briefly describe them.
• What did the participants have to do in the study? Answer questionnaires; perform certain skills; a combination, etc.
• What instruments did the researchers use to collect data?
• What was the order of activities done?
Results: What results did they get after statistical analysis?
• What are the important characteristics of the participants? (if not mentioned in methods section)
• What results were “significant”?
Discussion/Conclusion: What do the results mean?
• What do the results indicate for real life application?
• How do the results compare to previous research?
• What major limitations exist?
• One sentence conclusion explaining finding as related to the purpose statement.
