Assessment 3 Individual Report Weighting 40% Aim: The aim of this assessment is to critically analyse the case study presented in Assessment 1 drawing on the literature and your own reflections, having completed Management Fundamentals. Process: You are to write two papers – a 2,000 word briefing paper on preparing for an international assignment, and a 500 word reflective paper on managing others. Part one: 1.Review the case study discussed in Assessment One. Imagine you are the manager who has just returned to Australia from your six-month assignment in Singapore. Your assignment has been a great success.2.You have been asked to write a 2,000 word briefing paper for colleagues who are going on an international assignment to ensure their success in managing an overseas team. This paper could include key areas the manager needs to consider in preparing for their assignment and areas to focus on once in the role. The paper must be academically rigorous, not just based on your opinion. That is, you need to include:a.An explanation of two management theories that the manager needs to be aware of in preparing for their international assignment (such as: planning, performance management, motivation theories, group dynamics, coordinating a team, conflict management). Note: You cannot draw on both motivation theories and conflict management – you must choose at least one other management area that has not already been assessed.b.Reference to at least 15 relevant academic articles from the management literature. Part two: 3.The remaining 500 words is a reflection on your learnings of how to manage a team. Youcan choose to do this in an essay form, or in a diagram or drawing (eg an infographic isan option) 4.Choose two key areas of management that you believe are critical to success inmanaging a team. 5.Explain what these management areas are, why they are important to you as adeveloping manager, and what you could do to enhance your effectiveness in theseareas.
