A church is examining strategies for safety of volunteers as well as staff. Currently the church has a program that feeds roughly 200 homeless people 4x out of the week and feeds roughly 150 people on Sundays. In addition, due to the history of the church, tourists may come to the church, though there is no scheduled tours or system utilized to schedule tours. The issue of concern is allowing the guests who are served access to another part of the church to stay warm during winter months. Due to issues w/safety in the past such a ppl over-dosing and fights; there needs to be security and a plan. However, an extra security officer will cost $60K but a part-time security office may cost half of that price.
