    Discussion Prompt: Cognitive Behavior Modification

    Review the article found in this weeks Reading and Viewing assignments (Boan, 2006) as well as the Miltenberger (2016) assigned text on Cognitive Behavior Modification (pp. 510-522). After completing the readings, respond to the following prompts in your discussion:
    • Summarize the main idea of the Boan (2006) article.
    • Do you believe Cognitive Behavior Modification might be an effective approach in your workplace to improve organizational culture? If you do not work outside the home, consider the culture of a previous workplace or the workplace of a friend or family member.
    • Review the other strategies discussed in the assigned reading for this section (Miltenberger, 2016) (token economies, behavioral contracts, etc.). Do you believe any of these strategies would be effective for improving organizational culture? If so, would they be more or less effective than the CBM approach (Boan, 2006)? Why?
