Hi Ill type instructions here The purpose of this project is for you to complete an in-depth study of a
culture, race, group, etc., about which you currently have only one story. Through your study, you should begin to cultivate a more diverse perspective and a better understanding of the individuals who make up the group. Directions: Each of you will develop a portfolio (a collection of work) that portrays a variety of voices from within your chosen group. Begin by asking yourself the following questions: What are my stereotypes and prejudices? About which group of people do I only have one story? About which group of people would I like to know more? Begin by writing your cover page introduction. This introduction should be completed before you begin any other part of the work.Once you have completed your cover page introduction, you may begin gathering artifacts that portray your group from a variety of voices. For each artifact, you will complete an analysis task. Use details below for specific instructions. As you work, you should use Internet sources, and you should create a works cited entry for each source you use. All Internet sources must be from reputable sites. These include the following: recognized news sources like cnn.com, bbc.com, npr.org, newsweek.com, etc., recognized museums and other educational institutions,

.edu sites, .gov sites, and anything you find on a database from our media center.

I have already chosen my topic and written most of this. My topic is that not all southern americans are racist and all of that stuff.

All I need is two informational texts and two literary texts that support this as well as summarys of them and how they apply, ill put the directions for those two things here:  Informational Texts:

Use resources in the library to help you find two informational texts (non-fiction) written about your group. These articles can be newspaper articles, magazine articles, or Internet articles. One should discuss a current issue and one should provide a historical perspective. You MAY NOT use encyclopedias as your texts (Wikipedia included), and remember that if you choose to print an article from the web, it must be from a reputable source. For each article, you should include a paragraph that provides the main idea of the article as well as evidence to support your claim. In addition, for each article, the accompanying paragraph should explain how ideas presented in the article help you to understand a new perspective on the group. What do you learn from the article about your group’s values and/or struggles? Be sure not to plagiarize the words in the article or the author’s structure. Note: a  paragraph in this case is not 3 to 5 sentences! In fact, your paragraphs will most likely be around 3/4ths of a page each.

and finally
Literary Texts: Include two pieces of literature (poems and/or short stories) that reveal new perspectives about your group. If possible, these pieces of literature should be written by a member of your group. If you cannot find literature written by a member of the group you have chosen to study, you may find something written about them, but the author must have firsthand knowledge of the group. If the text is not written by a member of the group, you will need to include justification for your choice. Your justification should explain how the author has firsthand knowledge and is a legitimate source. For each text, identify and analyze three significant quotations. Your analysis should explain how the quotation fits into the overall context of the poem or story, how the quotation / the literary choices the author makes in the quotation impact the meaning of the overall poem or story, and how the quotation provides significant insight into your group. Your analysis can be completed on the analysis chart. You will need to turn in one chart per text.
