Week 6 – Discussion 1
There are a variety of theories and models that are utilized in health promotion and disease prevention. The theories and models (see article and websites below and review Chapter Three of your text) are used in development of programs to provide a way to understand and explain health behavior. This understanding will guide program efforts in strategy selection for the programs. For this week’s discussion pick one health behavior model or theory and answer the following questions

- Identify the target population (who you will be focusing on teaching or providing your brochure next week to) of your Healthy People 2020 topic and objective and their key health needs. Target population is age 18-35. (https://www.healthypeople.gov/2020/topics-objectives) MY healthy 2020 topic is DIABETES and my objective is REDUCE THE DIABETES DEATH RATE under the objective tab. - Based on the theory of your choice, how will you evaluate the teaching method?
