Let us begin this module’s discussion with cutting edge practices in operations in the manufacturing sector. If you do not keep up to date, you will run the risk of missing out on trends and new developments that may improve productivity.
Week 1 Discussion Post
Research a manufacturing operations management trend and share it with the class. Be sure to explain how it is said to improve the industry.
This post should be 1 or 2 paragraphs in length (at least 100 words). Since you are engaging in research, be sure to cite in the body of the post and add a reference list in APA format. NOTE: failure to use research with accompanying citations to support content will result in reduced scoring “Level 2-Developing” for Assignment-Driven Criteria, Critical Thinking, and Writing Mechanics and Referencing on the grading rubric.

Select a post from a classmate and discuss how it compares with your findings.
Your reply should be one paragraph in length (or about 50 words) and must be substantive in nature. Do not simply say “I agree” or “That is great.” Specify why and be detailed in your explanation. You may use research in your responses, but it is not required.

Service and Merchandising Models
While many recognize that operations management is applied to manufacturing, it is also crucial in service and merchandising sectors. Research a services or merchandising operations management trend and share it with the class. Be sure to explain how it is said to improve the industry.

In your own words, respond to the discussion and comments of classmates.
