Create an employee handbook for your current company or for a fictitious company. Your employee handbook should have any critical sections that you feel should be covered in the employee handbook. At a minimum it should include the following sections (the order the topics appear is at your discretion):

 

  • Include a summary of the purpose of the company and/or mission statement
  • A statement/section on the culture the company would like employees to use to guide their actions.
  • A statement/section about employee responsibilities for legal and ethical compliance.
  • A section on how employees can report concerns and summary of obligations and processes that will be followed
  • A section on employee benefits the company provides (can include fictional links to benefit resources)
  • Statements within appropriate section on policies about non-retaliation, non-discrimination
  • List of other sources of valuable resources for employees outside of this handbook

The handbook should have headings and bullets as appropriate for convenient employee reading and reference. Additionally include a table of contents page and a page listing references (Most references would not be included in the real company handbook unless they provide resources employees can reference for further information).
