You will be required to write a 5-7 page position paper about your views on mandatory interventions in cases of domestic violence. You may choose more than one mandatory intervention to discussion if you wish.
As you will see throughout the course, domestic violence cases do not have a one-answer solution to all cases, so take time to strongly consider many different viewpoints while determining your individual stance. There is no right or wrong answer, but be prepared with evidence and theories to back your position. Please use outside sources and any class material to support your position, and make sure all theories and evidence provided are cited properly.
Please make sure your essay addresses each of the three topics listed below.

- Identify and defend your position on the mandatory intervention you chose as it relates to cases of domestic violence.
- Consider some of the social justice issues associated with the criminal justice system response to domestic violence.
- Identify counterarguments to your position and ways in which the criminal justice system and social institutions can address these issues
General Instructions:
Essays must be double-spaced, 12-point font size, with standard 1 margins. The essay must be between 5-7 pages in length. Cover and reference pages do not count toward the page length requirements. Page numbers must be included. For all in-text citations, use APA-style (see guide posted on D2L) and include a reference page at the end of the paper (also in APA reference style). A minimum of five sources (3 of which must be peer-reviewed, scholarly sources) are required. The research paper must be turned in to Dropbox on D2L.
