Task 1. Examine the platform preambles (located in your course site) of both the Texas Democrats and Republicans from 2020. Identify three contrasting ideas/principles between the parties based upon the content of the preambles only. Each of these three you identify must be very specific about the exact words that are used in the preambles and the ideas that are conveyed by those specific words. I want to emphasize here that you should not be going anywhere outside of the respective platform preambles for these contrasting ideas/principles; this is an exercise in analyzing what these parties are saying about themselves.

In comparing the last three presidential election results in Texas, based on popular vote, what evidence is there that might make Democrats confident they will return to power in Texas within the next 10 years? This will require you to look at the election results, linked in your course site, for the years 2012, 2016 and 2020. Be specific about what those election results suggest.
Task 5. What do you think should be the three most important issues that should guide Texas voters in the 2022 midterm elections?
