1. In your own words, what is the difference between primary and secondary sources…AND…what is the value of each type-what are the strengths and weaknesses of both primary and secondary sources?

2. Evaluate the Memoirs for the Instruction of the Dauphin excerpt above according to that Interpreting Primary Sources document and answer the following about that document (think about what Louis XIV suggests a ruler should do and should not do and use secondary source information to help you): Author/Credibility, Audience, Context, Purpose, and Significance.

3. Evaluate the Louis XIV, Peter the Great, and Charles I Royal Portraits in that PPT document. How do each of these portraits represent royal power (be specific)? Which do you find most impressive and why? What are the strengths and weaknesses of using visual evidence/art as a source?
