Final Writing Assignment

Select a country (not the United States and NOT a western European country) to research.

You MUST get instructor approval for your country.

You next will select three major issues/events that took place in, and helped shape your country in the Twentieth Century. 

You should first decide what three events/issues are the most important for your country and why. You should then examine the origins of these events, their developments, and their aftermath.You will want to provide background on your events, detailed analysis of the events, and conclusions about them.

This writing assignment is basically an independent research paper that will aim to discover what the most important events (political, social, economic, or otherwise) were the most important in shaping your country’s modern existence and why. You are essentially making an argument for why the events you selected are so important in the shaping of your nation.

You also want to demonstrate the you have a thorough understanding of the events you cite and how they contributed to your nation’s development. (DO NOT simply cite events and say they were important).

You should develop a thesis statement surrounding the findings of your research and present your paper focused around that thesis
