Helpful APA Style (Format) Tips:

After using the CSU Online Library (via “My Library” under “RESOURCES”) to find an article, for instance, be sure to include the following on the references page (slide) for each reference page entry:

*The author(s) of the document. Ex. Jones, B. K.

*The publication year. Ex. (2020).
*The title of the document (properly capitalized). Ex. Implementing strategies as a leader: First steps.
*The name of the journal/periodical (in italics). Ex. Journal of Business.
*The volume number (in italics). Ex. 6
*The issue number (within parentheses). Ex. (10)
*The page number(s) information (e.g., the page number for where the quote or paraphrase cited can be found on). Ex. 14-15.

*The specific doi or URL (web site address) used to find the article. Ex. https://doi.org/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Here is an example for the actual reference page entry (notice the hanging indent format):

Jones, B. K. (2020). Implementing strategies as a leader: First steps. Journal of

Business, 6(10), 14-15. https://doi.org/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Or, you can simply see the posting in the Announcements section entitled: APA Style (Format)—Helpful tip! There you will find information about an easy way to copy/paste the APA style (format) onto your references page.

In addition, within the body (on the specific slide(s)) of your assignment be sure to indicate the following: The actual quote or paraphrase cited (that came from the source(s) listed on the references page—e.g., from the CSU Online Library—See the “My Library” link).

Here is an example of a paraphrase with in-text citation:

According to Jones (2020), the strategies a leader should implement include effective communication.

Here is an example of a direct quote with in-text citation:

“It is important to remember the need for effective leadership” (Jones, 2020, p. 14).
