With respect to stratigraphic principles/concepts: Explain the following terminology, provide examples of each (either from your own experience or using diagrams) and discuss how they are used to establish a geological history for an area:
(a) Superposition.

(c) Faunal/floral succession.
With respect to graptolites:
(a) Using diagrams, describe the differences between dendroids and graptoloids.
(b) Describe the main stages in the evolution of graptolites.
With the aid of clearly annotated diagrams, describe the shell morphology of:
(a) Bivalves living in deep burrows
(b) Bivalves attaching themselves with a byssus
(c) Bivalves that can swim
(d) Brachiopods living attached via a pedicle
With respect to corals and reefs:
(a) Using clearly annotated diagrams, describe the main morphological features of rugose and tabulate corals.
(b) Illustrate how the morphology of corals varies across modern and fossil reefs.
