Please watch episode 7, “String Cheese”, of the series Maid on Netflix. If you have any spare time, I would recommend binging on the entire series; it’s really good! For the purpose of this assignment, only watch episode 7.
After observing the character PAULA, please draft 5 OBSERVATIONS (between Paula and other characters in the series). For example, Paula says, “You have to bend towards the sun” and the character Sean says, “What do you mean by that Paula?” Paula answers, “well you know baby, that’s where you get your fire from…lights you up inside.” If possible, please list the appropriate communication technique or type of psychiatric behavior this is in the communique technique column. This example I just used would be considered a delusion of reference (she is referencing that the sun in the sky has an unusual significance (the sun lights here up inside)).
Please note: NO GOALS ARE NECESSARY. Just list the type of psychiatric/psychotic features you observe in the series and come up with nursing interventions in lieu of patient goals. For example, for the above example, an intervention would be to re-direct Paula back to reality, and let her know that the sun does not literally provide you with energy/fire inside your soul. Spiritually, maybe, but literally no.
