Lesson 2 Discussion Forum Instructions
You are the Director of Emergency Management and Homeland Security for your city. In the recent election two of the five city council members were replaced and a new mayor was elected. The mayor and council members are new to elected service. They were unaware of you or your position in the city. In their first meeting as elected officers, the council meetings started with reports of a disaster that took place the day before in a city less than 50 miles away where a heavy storm caused a dam to breech and later to collapse. There are two dams in your city and citizens using the open comments portion of the meeting want to know what your city is doing to prevent and respond to a similar threat.
