The use of first person is permitted for this Assignment. APA formatting (title page, conclusion, reference page, etc.) should not be used. Remember, you are developing a current communication initiative for your community.
Although the use of APA formatting is not required for this Assignment, proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation are expected.
For this assignment, you may wish to use the National Health Education Standards, a list of
standards created by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. NHES is an outlet for
health education and awareness in schools throughout the United States. These standards are
a useful resource for you to consult when developing a new healthcare initiative.
How you communicate is just as important as what you communicate. As leaders in the field,
you will be expected to communicate with others on areas of concern in health care and even
on research findings. Honing your communication skills now will better prepare you for success
in the field. Some examples of communication used in health care include writing emails, letters,
blogs, and articles for publication, as well as delivering verbal instructions and professional
presentations.
Where can you locate information on new policies being introduced to lawmakers? What about
new legislation aimed at reducing a healthcare concern? Take time out to learn the lawmaking
process. You can discover this information by performing an internet search for relevant data.
