## Read the Mississippi State Constitution. Select one of the 15 sections to summarize (Question #2). I know it’s long. However, that’s a part of our problem. If we don’t read the law, how would we know the law?

Mississippi joined the union in 1817 and has had four Constitutions since then. The Constitution of 1817, The Constitution of 1832, the Constitution of 1868 (after the Emancipation Proclamation), and the present Constitution of 1890. The current Constitution  was written in 1890 after Reconstruction to disenfranchise African Americans.
