Here are some featuresdemonstrating the importance of having a good review of literature (ROL)

  • A research literature review is a written summary of the state of evidence on a research problem.
  • A literature review helps the reader identify the significance of the problem and identifies areas that have not been studied.
  • A through literature review can turn up studies that can be replicated, instruments that have been standardized and tested for use procedures that can be adapted to the proposed study or an appropriate theoretical framework.
  • A literature review adds credence to the researchers assertions of the importance of the proposed topic under investigating. As we learned from our lesson a literature review is to explore existing research providing a summary and evaluation of works relevant to the research problem being investigated.
  • For our discussions this week which is based on the above article you will focus on the Literature Review section and discuss one of the many studies listed in this section that supported the research purpose/problem.  You will also describe one way you could create a strong ROL when developing a research study.
