Overview Over the course of the semester, you will have the opportunity to attend a Walk The Talk event with local business professionals and your peers. The purpose of the session is to increase your understanding about how the concepts covered in the course are applied in practice and to introduce the importance of ethical behavior. Topics may include ethical aspects of business, planning, competition, or other related issues. Your grade for this assignment will be based on attendance at the Walk the Talk event AND completion of the written Reflection Paper assignment described below.Reflection Paper Required Elements: Following the session, you are to provide a one-page write-up explicitly addressing the following seven elements (use seven paragraphs with the following heading titles for each paragraph): 1. WTT session Attended (WTT Case Name, Date Attended, Business Leader) and very briefly describe the Case and the underlying issue. 2. Relevant Text Material: Identify the chapters (at least 3 chapters) AND specific topics/concepts in these chapters and/or lectures that best apply to the case you attended EVEN IF WE HAVE NOT YET COVERED THEM IN CLASS. IMPORTANT: This should be more than a simple mention of the chapter or case. As a minimum, discuss why and how the material relates and to what chapters that material corresponds. This is a critical part of the assignment. 3. Views Expressed: A brief summary of the different views expressed by the different students. 4. Alternatives Considered: A summary of the alternatives the teams discussed for resolving the issue proposed at the Walk the Talk event. 5. My Recommendation: Discuss the specific course of action you would recommend for resolving the issue at the Walk the Talk event. 6. Reflection: Your reaction to the presentation or discussion; how this event affected your perspective on business and ethics. 7. Key Learning Point(s) you learned from the event.Format/Write-up Details The write-up may not exceed one (1) single spaced page At the top of your paper, include your first and last name, MGT 490 – Section #, date of the report The written assignment is due no later than one week following the session. Use 11- or 12-point font (Times New Roman, Arial, Calibri) Use one-inch margins (single-spaced) Be cautious of your writing skills. Use complete sentences.Proofread the paper to ensure there are no problems with writing skills. Late papers will NOT be accepted.
