Week 2 Progress Report
Assignment Preparation
Before you update your Progress Report document for this week, revise your previous entries based on the feedback you received. Use change tracking for previous entries (but not for new entries) so that your instructor can easily locate the changes you have made.
- Begin your literature search, referring to the resources and information in this unit’s studies.
- Open a RefWorks account to collect and organize citations, if you have not already done so (OPTIONAL).
- Download the Scholarly Research Log and the Database Log (linked in Resources) and use the files to track your search strategy.
- Optional: Complete the Preliminary Search Action Plan (linked in Resources). You do not need to submit this.
- Be sure to track your search strategy as you search, using the Scholarly Research Log and the Database Log (linked in Resources). It is important to continually track your search strategy and results not just for this assignment and others in the course, but also because you will need to document your search in your final dissertation. Each week you will update the Scholarly Research Log and the Database Log and include both as attachments to your weekly assignment.
Assignment Instructions
For this week’s Progress Report:
- Describe how your initial topic idea has evolved based on feedback from your instructor.
- List your initial key words for your literature search and briefly describe why you chose each one.
- Identify the software tools you are using to collect and organize the articles found during your search.
- Identify a minimum of five articles on your initial topic area that are no older than 3 years at the end of the Progress Report, you will find a page noted as References. Please cite the five articles in correct APA Format in this section.
- Note any questions or concerns you want your instructor to address this week.
- Update all columns in your Scholarly Research Log and Database Log.
