Expository Essay:
What is an expository essay?
In an expository essay you try to explain something to your audience. You begin by reading what your text has to say about a particular topic and then study the available literature related to that topic. Then you form a thesis statement based on your understanding of the material, and explain and support that thesis. The thesis statement should appear at the end of the first paragraph of your essay.
What is a thesis statement?
Your thesis statement is the answer to the subject you are trying to explain. It is the result of reading and thinking about the topic of your essay. After collecting and organizing your annotated bibliography (text + 4 sources), develop your thesis statement.
Please remember: your thesis statement must be related to the history and philosophy of eastern and or western psychology, discuss comparative ideology, epistemology, and ontology, and use our textbook as your main source. This paper must compare theories, concepts, or methods related to history and philosophy, not applied psychology.
Instructions:
Based on your annotated bibliography, submit an 8-10-page Expository essay to which you add a title page, an abstract (120 words) and a reference page (textbook + 4 additional sources). Submit this writing assignment as a Microsoft Word document using Times New Roman, 12-point font, double spacing, and 1-inch margins. Number pages in the upper right hand corner.
