This reflection paper is going to ask you to think over the entire semesters issues.
Prompt: Compare two media texts/artifacts, one from before 1950 and one from 1950-today.
The definition of media here is broad: from mass media to social media, from childrens games to dating apps, from advertisements to celebrities, from social movement documentaries to student problem memes, we have covered a large list of media examples.
At least one of your selections should be something we didnt discuss in class.
Identify and explain the ways your two examples connect and divide people. These ways should be present in each example, which will allow you to better compare and contrast them.
Citational requirements: You must use ideas and at least three course readings from at least three different modules (aka topics/weeks) to inform your analysis (you can draw from any of the semesters weeks).
The readings dont necessarily have to focus on or even mention your examplethey can be related to mediation more broadly. You do not have to create a bibliography, but make it clear which author/title you are using.
