TheNegotiation Process:
The Negotiation Process:
1. Determine what you arenegotiating, what your collateral is, or points you have to negotiate with.2. Determine what cannot change – policy, legal, budget, etc.3. Before you start to negotiate, know what your bottom line is below which youare not willing to relinquish.4. Determine where the other side is coming from.5. Think about what you might propose as a midpoint between where the otherparty wants to go and what you will ideally accept.6. Be willing to compromise a bit to get some of what you want while allowingthe other party to save face and also to get some of what they want.7. If you both have gotten some of what you wanted then it has probably been asuccessful negotiation.
Please be sure to work and post in this space. Your instructor will be gradingyou on your team’s negotiation of the issues based on your use of thenegotiation process to contract or not with ORF as the supplier for another 2years.
Keep in mind the importance of communication within all your courses at Kaplan:this importance is magnified with team project work. It is imperative that youcommunicate effectively and efficiently with your classmates during thisproject while respecting netiquette. Your postings should conform to standardDiscussion guidelines in your Syllabus.
