We have been covering a lot of doom and gloom associated with fish and fishing. It is time for something a little more positive – some success stories.

Please provide a short write up of a successful fish conservation story (300-500 words). A story that I have not covered in class (e.g., you cannot use the Apache Trout as an example, or species talked about in the TN aquarium story/videos). Each story must be unique (no one can cover the same fish). Thus, it might be beneficial to post your story first. You should read everyone’s story as questions related to them will appear on the last (Quiz 5).

You can provide links, pictures, etc. to help you tell the story. Please use your own words and do not plagiarize. It is very easy to check that what you wrote is originally or not. If you use someone elses words or paraphrase them, please use quotations, citations, and references to properly credit them.

Some items to include in your story

1. Species name, common and scientific
2. What is known about the fish: size, lifespan, habitats, etc.
3. Distribution: where is it found?
4. Why is it or was it in trouble?
5. What is the success aspect?
6. Why did you pick this fish?
