After reading these articles you need to find at least two scholarly sources on your own that addresses the topic of workforce inequality by gender, race, and ethnicity. You are required to cite the sources I assigned, and those you have found, in your paper.
After you complete your literature review you will now go to DATA USA at https://datausa.io/ to look up and use the “Industries” and/or “Jobs” tabs to explore your intended career (if you have not chosen a career yet, use one you are considering , Nursing). You can also use the Bureau of Labor Statistics to find this information though I find it a bit harder to navigate ( https://www.bls.gov/).
Specifically, I want you to look at earnings and composition of the workforce by gender, race, and ethnicity for your profession. You should also pay attention to whether the field is growing, declining, or staying consistent in terms of job growth.
You will then submit here a typed, three to four page, double spaced essay using a 12 point Arial, Calibri, or Times New Roman font and one inch margins. Utilize APA format in-text citations and create an APA works cited section of your five plus sources. Your paper should address:
1. The characteristics and trends of inequality in the workforce in general.
2. The characteristics and trends of inequality in the career path you have chosen (Nursing).
3. How likely are you to perceive prejudice, discrimination, and/or stereotyping in your career?
You should explicitly use theories and terms from the text (“Essentials of Sociology”, edition 7) in your discussion. The sociological theories and terms specifically applicable to your discussion in the text can be found in Chapters 7 – 10 & 13. Cite the text, assigned articles, and any other information you utilize appropriately.
