-Our research about contrastive in emotion or feelings and this is our proposal to get the idea.

Proposal:

This is a study concerning the differences and similarities in words that describe emotions between Arabic and English and how do they affect the listener emotionally. Specifically, the Arabic-speakers. After doing a research on this subject we decided that the best method for collecting data for us would be “production questionnaires”. Providing the participants with different situations they can relate to, might help them express their feelings more easily and comfortably.

*I will attach our questioner for you to understand the idea. Also in the questioner there are words in Arabic and their meaning in English to make it easy for you.

1- I want a general introduction about feelings or emotion from the Internet “but” you have to do a paraphrasing (don’t forget citation).

2- I want a description of both Arabic and English languages. > Relate to our topic.

3- Comparison and analysis of data. > Compare and contrast the two languages and find features which the two languages and other features which the two languages differ in. support your comparison with examples. *Your own words. (I will attach a PDF file an example for you)

4- Conclusion: summarize the major findings.

Brotherly Bond

Once upon a time, in a beautiful mansion lived two brothers David and James with their parents Thomas and Marry. Although they loved their children very much, they were busy most of the time. Thomas traveled a lot for business and Marry took care of their home while her husband was away. The two brothers were close in age, David was 11 years old and James was 9. Being the older brother David felt it was his responsibility to protect his little brother James. They spend most of their time together, they were very close. One day while the two brothers were playing with their wooden swords in the garden, David accidentally pushed James and he fell. James got very mad at David, so James yelled, “Why did you do that?” David answered, “I’m sorry James. I swear it was an accident.” But James didn’t believe David because he was convinced that David pushed him on purpose. James was hurt by what he thought his brother has done. James started crying and he ran towards the old maze that their parents forbade from even going near. When David realized where his little brother was heading, he ran after him. James stopped for a minute to catch his breath and when he looked around he panicked and started shouting for David to get him out of the scary maze. David heard James’s shouting and he ran toward the sound. Finally, David found James and he said, “Are you mad!”, “Don’t you remember when father told us never to go near this maze?” James replied, “I do remember but I didn’t pay attention. I’m sorry,” And James started crying again. David hugged James and told him it was going to be fine and he’ll get him out of this scary maze. The two brothers got out of the maze and told their mother what happened and she was furious. She forgave them eventually, but not without punishment. Marry forbade her children from playing outside for a month so they can learn their lesson and they did. David and James never had a fight like this ever again and they never disobeyed their parents after that.
