Given the information that you have learned about the Potts family as stated in the scenario in the Week 2 Discussion Board as well as your knowledge of how alcoholism affects children, do the following:
- How would you interpret the effect that Mr. Potts’s alcohol abuse has had on his children and his relationship with the children?
- How would you describe which role each Potts family member plays (e.g., scapegoat, caretaker, lost child, comic, and so on)?
- Using a theoretical perspective, illustrate how alcohol use and abuse contributes to the roles that each family member plays.
- Based on your knowledge of alcoholism, predict whether either child or both are at risk to develop an alcohol-related drinking problem and why.
- Provide up to 3 scholarly sources, which may include the textbook and other course materials, and cite them using American Psychological Association (APA) style.
