In the chapter you read for this module, your textbook includes the following statement: “The media content you produce matters because what you choose to show and tell people can influence what audiences come to expect as normal.”
Reflect on an example of this in your own life this might be something that you once believed to be “normal” because you saw it modeled on television. Or, it might be a choice you’ve made to deliberately model a new normal for yourself or your children. (For example, I regularly make sure my young daughter and son watch shows that feature women in professional careers in STEM fields…thank you, PBS Kids!) It might be something else entirely. How does media content impact your worldview?
