Thematic Project

In Unit 4, you will begin and complete Part 2 of the Thematic Project.  

Use this discussion topic to collaborate with your assigned team to addresses each of the below elements of the Thematic Project.   (For our business to business (B2B) service, we have selected to a local grocery amazon type business. Oftentimes, consumers have to shop around to the best prices and this includes going to different stores for different prices and quality products. For example, at Walmart bananas are 58 cents and at Publix they are 48 cents, however the mangoes at Walmart are 67 cents and at Publix they are 89 cents. Instead of going to 2 different stores, our business can provide small and medium restaurant owners a platform to shop on our website from different businesses and pick it all up at one store (our store). The business will be charged a premium, in trade for convenience and saving extra money)

• Describe wholesalers and the functions they provide for others in channel systems.
• Determine when and where the various kinds of merchant wholesalers and agent middlemen would be most useful to channel planners.
• Explain why physical distribution is such an important part of place and marketing.
• Describe the different kinds of channel systems.
