For the assignment please:
1) Describe the topic you are following in Jane Eyre.
2) Include four quotations that relate to your topic. These should be spread throughout chapters 1-13. I encourage you to type the quotation out (and not just cut and paste it) because that will make you more familiar with the words and may give you some ideas. Before each quotation summarize what is happening in the novel.
3) Write a double-spaced paragraph about your topic that integrates some of your quotations. You do not need to use all the quotations. The paragraph should focus on one main idea; choose the quotations to support aspects of this particular idea. Use the MLA citation form.

Below, I offer a sample of how to do the assignment. There are two types of paragraphs you can write. You can write a paragraph that combines quotations from various places in the novel. Or you can write a paragraph that offers a close reading of a particular scene and uses quotations from only that scene. You only need to write one paragraph, so choose.
