The purpose of this assignment is for you to understand the algorithms used to determine what product to ship from whom and where based on the costs of shipment. You will be using the Transportation Model discussed in week 14 material. This is an important factor in supply chain management. The product is transported from a number of sources to a number of destinations at the minimum possible cost and each source is able to supply a fixed number of units. Each destination has a fixed demand. Companies never ship more than demand, so if supply is greater than demand, it remains at the source.
You will be using a linear programming application, Solver, which is an add-on to excel. I illustrate how to add this to excel in the Week 14 videos.

2) Complete problem #2 (10 pts). Using the same template as before alter the problem based on the new constraint. The school district has determined that it does not want any of the schools to be overly crowded compared with the other schools. It would like to balance enrollments between the four schools. However, the concern is that this might significantly increase travel time. Determine the number of students to be assigned to each school so that enrollments are evenly balanced. Does this new solution appear to significantly increase travel time per student?
Submit a separate excel file with the solution. What was the impact on time given this new constraint?
