Explain how you are going to use the skills you learned in classthis quarter to help cope with a current situation. Examplesmight be the transition back to in person learning, the ongoingpandemic and related challenges, the increasing visibility andintensity of systemic racism and social injustices, big life changessuch as graduation and/or changes in employment, or any otherimportant situations in your life. Please use one situation toanswer all 4 questions. Be specific in naming the skills anddescribing what the skill is and how you specifically will usethem.
Expect your answers to be 1-2 double spaced pages with 12ptfont/1 inch margins per question for a total of 5-10 pages.
1. (20 points) How are you going to use the PERMA model (You can see it in each lecture slide) to increase youropportunities for happiness during this time? Provide a general overallsummary and then one specific strategy for each letter. Describe thespecific strategies/components and specific action steps/skills that you willuse; write it out in detailed action steps. Provide 1 example of a strategythat was discussed in class for each letter of the PERMA model that willhelp you thrive during this difficult/stressful time. Each example shouldprovide an explanation of what the strategy is, how exactly you will use it,and why you think it will work.
2. How are you reframing success during this season? Which specificstrategies, skills, and concepts from the class are you using to help withthis?
3. How are you establishing, maintaining, and restoring relationships while inthe situation you selected. Give one example for each area. (lecture slide week 7 and 8 (attached))
4. Come up with a skill to cultivate past focused, present focused, and futurefocused positive emotions. Use the framework for past, present, andfuture focused positive emotions taught in week 9 (attached) as a guide AND you canreference content from any week of class.
