The GOOD
Good start: It seems you have placed a good amount of effort into this so far. There may be a few flaws, (see above) but I expect these to be corrected on the final paper.
Sources: You use sources to support your ideas. Make sure to keep using sources.
Format: The format of the paper looks good with proper heading, title, and WCP

The BAD
Put in the time: Turn off the media, sit at a desk away from distractions, and put some effort into this paper.
Sources on WCP not in paper: If a source is listed on the WCP, it MUST be referenced in the paper. This is a major issue and will result in massive point deduction if not corrected.
Reference in paper not on WCP: If a source is cited in the paper, it MUST also be listed on the WCP.
Outside Sources Needed: More sources are needed than just 1984 and BNW.The goal of a research paper is to go and find sources that back up your ideas.Do not rely on in-class discussions for material for your paper.Find your own information.Use books, journals, magazines, or newspapers.
Citations lacking: Either there are no outside sources cited or there are not enough sources. This must be addressed.Find outside sources that back up your ideas. Your ideas mean nothing to the reader unless they are substantiated by credible research.
Sources not cited correctly: The URL does not go in the parenthesis, for example, (George Orwell.com). Instead, put the author’s last name and page number in the parenthesis. (Orwell 25). If there is no author, use the title of the article in parenthesis. (1984 and the World of Big Brother).
Source not credible: One or more of your sources are not legitimate.Refer to the CRAAP sheet to make sure a source is suitable for research.
Re-read for grammar issues: Look for common errors like comma issues, passive voice, agreement issues, and informal language.
Quotes are too long: Keep your quotes to one or two sentences at the most. Good authors say an enormous amount in just a few words. Quote the author and then analyze the quote fully before moving on to the next idea.
Research paper. Not biography: This is not a biography. Nowhere does the question ask for the background of the authors, so do not include that in your answer.
Underlining: make sure to underline or italicize the titles of the books.
Answer the questions: The questions are very specific. Do not go off on a tangent. Stick to the topic.
Too short: There was not enough length on this paper.
Check the format: This paper lacks the proper format in some or all of the following: heading, title, text, or WCP.

English 4
George Orwell’s 1984 and Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, both have dystopian societies
but they want a utopian society. Even though Winston and Marx are subversives in their
government, they both differ from how there government controls its population and it strictness.
Though the class structures in both books were alike, they differed in many ways. Although the
governments in both books are trying to control people’s lives, the main characters are trying to
explore their own humanity. While 1984 is a world constantly at War, Brave New World has a
peaceful World State, and in both class striations is prominent.
Huxley states about the process of human cloning. The process is to fertilize human
eggs in vitro and causing them to split into genetic copies of the original. Analysis shows there
are five million test tube babies have now been born around the world according to resource
fertility people. The first test tube baby, Louis Brown was born in the United Kingdom in July
1978. In the Brave New World, test tube babies was one of the terrifying stories about a false
utopia. Huxley prediction about this turned out not to be so scary.
The drug soma is a symbel used for insest grafitfication that controlled the world. It
symbolizes a powerful influence of science and technology on society. It also represents the use
of religion to control our society. Soma in Brave New World is an opioid. Soma makes people
feel good. It creates pleasant hallucinations. It was used to cure any sort of unhappiness within
society. Soma was quite the wonder drug. It made people feel as though they were on vacation
on the other side of the moon. It’s a symbol escapism taking over our society. Soma and Opiates
has the same addiction as recognized in a national crisis today. A report published by United
Hospital Fund, with support from MilBank Memorial and the Alfred Foundation, clearly indicate
that the magnitude of the epidemic’s impact is greater than realized.
Statistics show that more than one hundred and thirty people die overdosing on opioids in
the world today. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that in the United
States there are 78.5 billion misuse of prescriptions for opioids. Opioids overdose rates begin
increasing in 2017, more than 47,000 Americans died from opioid overdoses. In the same year
estimated 1.7 million people in the United States suffer from substance use related to
prescription opioids.
In the novel Brave New World by Aldous Huxley the government tries to prevent its
people from speaking freely and thinking by giving them soma, a legal drug that is available for
them every day. It would be easier for the government to overtake the people and to know that
there’s nothing left in their heads other than illusions. Aldous Huxley who wrote Brave New
World wasn’t able to resist drugs.
Huxley became popular in the 1950s for his interest in mind-expanding drugs like LSD,
which he seemed to take often over a period of ten years. He could not escape a drug that
allowed him an escape of himself and he knew it would harm the society if not taken with care.
He knew what he was talking about when he talked about the people having taken the drug
soma. Thus you can see that Huxley he knew what he was talking about when he described how
people would react in the Brave New World. The differences between the two worlds is the
attitude society has towards drugs. Society in Brave New World used soma by their first drug.
The society opinion soma is something that everyone can have. The world without it would
have been lost. In today’s society, legal drugs are mainly used to calm people or by habit.
Society in our world is used to seeing people take legal drugs. The people in the New World get
soma for free because it offered by the government. Roughly 21 to 29 percent of patients
prescribed opioids for chronic pain misuse them and 8 to 12 percent develop an opioid use
disorder. About 80 percent who misuse prescription opioids transaction to other drugs.
The people in “Brave New World” is great and everyone is happy if they get their drugs. They
are also often dependent on the drug.
We can’t condemn Brave New World only because they have soma, because we also have
drugs. The government tries to stop it’s people from freedom of speech and by giving them legal
drugs Brave New World discusses government control of people which causes a failed society.
The is shown as everything is controlled and beind observed. Society is controlling test tube
babies as factory made. The details of a life is prearranged.
