Frameworks, Competencies, Standards and Guidelines
Using the Harvard University, Graduate School of Education’s visual and virtual SEL frameworks comparison tool we will:
- Explore an SEL domain focus
- Discover framework connections
- Identify related skills
- Report common threads among and between frameworks
The Visual and Virtual Comparison Tool was developed by the Ecological Approaches to Social Emotional Learning (EASEL) Laboratory, led by Dr. Stephanie Jones of the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Instructions
Using the tool from Harvard GSE, locate 2 different social-emotional learning frameworks. During this exploration and analysis, you will compare the similarities AND differences between the frameworks you choose.
In your report propose categories of SEL that are common threads in the 2 Frameworks you select. Then, compare those two frameworks to the CASEL Five.
You may choose to complete this report by including one or more visuals such as a chart, a graph, or concept map. The visuals will be accompanied by rich narrative. The candidates will use comparative language to describe the common themes of the 2 frameworks they choose.
