Part 1: Whole Group Analysis
Analyze the graphic representation of the pre- and post-assessments you created in the Administering Assessments assignment to determine the level of success of students in meeting learning goals. Respond to the following questions:
If any students met the learning goals:
1. How many students did not reach the goals?
2. Are there any patterns? Hypothesize why or why not.
If any of the students did not meet the goals:
1. How many students did not reach the goals?
2. How much progress did these students make toward each goal?
3. Are there any patterns? Hypothesize why or why not.
Part 2: Subgroup Analysis
Select a group characteristic (e.g., gender, performance level, socioeconomic status, language proficiency) to analyze in terms of one learning goal. Explain why you chose this characteristic subgroup.
Create a graphic representation that compares pre- and post-assessment results for the subgroup. Analyze the graphic representation subgroup’s results. Be sure to:
1. Compare the data results of the individual students in the subgroup to one another. Describe any patterns you notice.
2. Contrast the data results of the subgroup to the whole class results. Describe any differences you notice.
3. Hypothesize why the subgroup may have performed similarly or differently than the class as a whole.
4. Provide possible explanations why the group performed as it did.
Part 3: Individual Analysis
Select two students that demonstrated different levels of performance. Explain why you chose these two students.
It is not necessary to use a graphic representation to compare pre- and post-assessment results for the subgroups
Analyze the graphic representation of the pre- and post-assessments you created in the Administering Assessments assignment and examples of students’ work to analyze each student’s progress toward meeting learning goals. Be sure to:
Contrast the two students’ pre-assessment, formative assessment, and post-assessment results to draw conclusions about the extent these students attained the two learning goals.
Hypothesize why these students may have performed similarly and/or differently.
