Length: 1500-1800 words (5-6 pages)
Format: Typed, double-spaced, in 12 point font, submitted as doc, or docx on Canvas website
Due: February 17th at 6 pm (papers may be submitted at any time prior to the due date)
Citation format: MLA or APA
Citations: all sources used must be cited within the paper in proper format
Minimum number of sources used: 7 (Van Voorst textbook can be used as one source)
Works cited or bibliography page: yes (not part of the 1500-1800 words)
Sources not allowed: Wikipedia; online/print dictionaries/encyclopedias; .com websites; videos
1. will identify and effectively explain the meanings of the central beliefs and practices of the religion, and why those beliefs and practices are central to the religion
2. will use enough and acceptable sources, and provide citations within the paper as needed for indirect and direct quotes, as well as for information that is not generally known
3. will have a conclusion that explains what about the religion can contribute to the understanding of life and existence that religions attempt to provide
4. will present a well organized and structured paper that is coherent and cohesive
5. will present a paper that has been very carefully proofed and is free of spelling and grammatical errors, as well as of poor sentence structure
6. will present a paper that is free of plagiarism
7. will have a bibliography page of all sources consulted (minimum of 7); review what sources are not allowed
