Writing Assignment III (Unit 6)

 

Directions:

 

You may write one of three possible choices below.  It is 1908. You are one of these three individuals and write your essay based on what you have learned, read, and studied in this class. 

Time Machine: It is the turn of the last century, 1908

A.        A devout Marxist, John Lennon, who lives in London and is writing a letter to his friend in the United States, and in that letter, he analyzes the present situation in Europe and the rest of the world. What observation and Marxist analysis would you make about Europe and the world?

B.         A British official in the government of Queen Victoria, Sir John Edwards the Third, explaining the benefits of the British system and throughout the Empire and how the British Empire benefits the entire world.

C.         You are a high court official, Enlai Lin, to Empress Cixi, in the Forbidden City in Peking, China. One of your relatives now resides in San Francisco, and you are writing to him about concerns and threats you observe concerning the Manchu Dynasty and Imperial China.

 

Directions for writing paper:

·       Include name, section, and class number

·       Check spelling and grammar  

·       No more than two to three pages typed – double-spaced

·       Have someone proofread your paper 

·       Worth 50 points.

·       Must use Microsoft Word

Late papers will result in a lower grade and will not be accepted unless you have them reviewed in the Writing Center.

·       This paper is due at 11:59 P.M. this Sunday

·       Go to content on Week 15 folder from Blackboard Course

·       In the folder, click on Writing Assignment #3 (50 pts)

·       Submit paper – no hard copy needed
