According to Owen and Fletcher, The act of reflecting enables us to make sense of what we’ve learned, why we learned it, and how each increment of learning took place (n.d.). Reflective practice is the ability to examine ones actions and experiences with the outcome of developing their practice and enhancing clinical knowledge (Caldwell & Grobbel, 2013).
For this assignment, you will reflect on course objectives, evaluate your progress towards meeting these objectives, and assess how well the learning activities assisted in your learning progress. You will assess the usefulness of class activities and describe your plans to apply new knowledge and/or skills to practice.
Step 1. Identify
Access the Course Reflection Template located in on the Nursing Master Resources page under Program and Course Resources.
Step 2. Review
Review the course objectives and the course reflection template. Next review the learning activities you engaged in and the various resources you utilized during this course. Also peruse the Reflective Practice Guide linked on the Learning Objects page.
Step 3. Interpret
Evaluate your progress towards meeting these objectives and assess how well the learning activities assisted in your learning progress. Reference at least 3 resources shared during this course that you saved and plan to utilize in the future. In addition, articulate at least 5 different ways you will apply new knowledge and/or skills to practice.
Step 4. Complete
Using your work from Steps 1-3, complete and submit the Course Reflection Template.
