In this week’s discussion board we are going to look at two big topics. Review the materials in the module. Select ONE (1) of the two choices on our discussion board for your top level post.
(a) Juveniles who have committed crimes are frequently imprisoned in juvenile prisons. What is your evaluation of this course of action for the juvenile’s mental health, for society’s safety? Are alternatives such as restorative justice sufficient?
(b) Some women use drugs or alcohol when pregnant. Is jailing these women the best course of action? Think about the women, the fetuses, society, the court system, health care providers. What are some of the issues?
