Think of 3 different case scenarios (those of a friend, colleague, relative, or self), which would require interventions to resolve. Do not identify the names used in the cases (keep anonymous)
1. Describe the scenarios
2. What are the issues?
3. Which interventions or techniques that you have covered in this course so far would you use with each case and why? (Psychoanalytic, Adlerian, Existential, Person Centered, Gestalt, Reality Therapy, Behavioral Counseling, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Integrative Approach)
4.How would you go about using the techniques? Be specific to each case.
5. The entire paper should be no longer than 5 pages in length, double spaced.

Review the various approaches to counseling and develop a grand of reference for your own personal style of counseling
The paper should be 6-8 pages in length and double spaced. It should be based on the following questions:
Are you drawn to a particular theory because it fits your own lifestyle, experience and value system? Does this confirm your views?
What aspects of each therapy appeal to you and why?
What aspects of each therapy are least appealing to you and why?
What does each approach offer you that is most significant in terms of integrating it into your practice?
What are some common denominators of all theories that you agree with?
What would be the benefit if combining 2 or more theories? Give examples.
What is your view of human nature?
What is your definition of counseling? How would you explain to a prospective client what counseling is about?
What husks of counseling do you view as appropriate?
What are the most important functions of a counselor?
How do you view the nature and importance of the counseling relationship? What constitutes a ‘good working relationship?’
How is your life’s meaning related to your need to help others
Which theory of counseling comes closest to your way of counseling?
What life experiences of yours will help you work with clients ?
What personal limitations do you need to be aware of in counseling?
