While working on the Classroom Management Worksheet, think of some practical ways of dealing with the specific issues that might occur in our classrooms. School administration and teachers usually use codes of conduct to guide them in how they should respond to daily situations related to discipline and student affairs.

For example, if the issue in the Self-Contained classroom is Disruptive behavior: (making loud noises, knocking over materials), the related document could be School code of conduct. The strategy to handle the issue is The teacher could use signals to quiet student down, start working and putting away materials.  

If the issue is related to the students IEP or students placement, refer to IDEA and ask for the meeting to discuss the issue with the administration and parents.

If in the Resource room the student does not pay attention, the teacher could refer to the Classroom rules. One of the strategies is to start the lesson by reviewing the rules, reminding the expectations, and giving clear instruction.

If the issue occurs between the colleagues in the Co-Teaching classroom, refer to the District Code of Ethics for guidelines.
